Job PurposeWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety professional to join our dynamic quality team. As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring operational safety for the development, production, and testing of our self-limiting insect technologies.
You will provide health and safety guidance to all teams, strengthen our positive health and safety culture, and work closely with departments to prepare risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and standard operating procedures. Your expertise will be essential in identifying potential hazards, determining fit-for-purpose solutions, and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide health and safety guidance to all teams, promoting a positive health and safety culture.
- Collaborate with teams to prepare risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify potential hazards and develop effective solutions to reduce risks.
- Deliver health and safety training and maintain up-to-date training records.
- Ensure the maintenance and servicing of critical health and safety equipment.
- Perform internal health and safety audits and investigate accident and near-miss reports.
- Run health and safety meetings and maintain a strong focus on performance excellence.
- A BSc in Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment is essential.
- IOSH or NEBOSH training is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Diligent and organized, with a strong attention to detail.
- A creative approach to problem-solving and the development of applied solutions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Competent in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
