Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison to join our team. As an MSL, you'll be a true scientific medical expert and an extension of our Medical Affairs department.

  • You will provide credible and unbiased scientific information, identify and execute the strategic Medical Affairs Plan, and support home office medical activities.

This role involves promoting our products under ABPI code, but with clear differentiation from non-promotional activities and suitable training.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop a thorough working knowledge of BioCryst, its products, current medical/scientific research & publications.
  2. Establish BioCryst's Medical Affairs presence in the medical community through long-term relationships with thought leaders, the medical community, and patient organizations.
  3. Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups.
  4. Offer feedback and insights from field interactions and discussions with Health Care Professionals to internal stakeholders.
  5. Support at professional meetings and congresses, collecting insights and competitive intelligence, and developing tools that support medical functions at the meeting.
  6. Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in rare disease therapeutic areas.
  7. Review scientific journals and attend scientific/key technical meetings.
  8. Respond to unsolicited requests for scientific information for BioCryst products, including those in development.
  9. Share clinical and value-based expertise in the development and management of clinical and scientific communications for customers.
  10. Participate in advisory board meetings, planning and execution, objectives, content development, and delivery of clinical presentations when needed.
  11. Take part in regional Medical Affairs and corporate meetings, providing support in the preparation/presentation of special activities.
  12. Support clinical initiatives, site identification, feasibility, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of approved data if needed.
  13. Facilitate internal training and scientific material review, assist with speaker programs, and provide competitive insights into therapeutic area planning.
About You

We're looking for someone with 3+ years of MSL work experience and prior rare disease experience preferred. Adherence to regulatory guidelines is essential, as is the ability to travel and hold a valid driver's license.
