About the Role
We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) team at the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA). As a key player in the UK National Reference Laboratory for AMR in the Veterinary Sector, you will play a crucial role in investigating AMR incidents of concern and contributing to the delivery and strategic direction of AMR surveillance and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the APHA portfolio of surveillance and research work in AMR, ensuring fitness for purpose, high scientific standards, timely delivery and reporting.
- Act as a key point of liaison on AMR related matters, working with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to address AMR, including the design and delivery of research projects and surveillance programs.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will require a veterinary degree and significant experience in a relevant field, preferably with expertise in AMR. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. A strong understanding of scientific principles and methodologies is also essential, as well as the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
What We Offer
As a member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary range of £41,220 - £45,400 per annum, depending on location, plus the potential for up to £6,000 per annum in additional pay subject to assessment in post.
