Master Class Education is seeking a highly motivated and caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This exciting opportunity allows you to work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans and adapting classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students. You will also provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or emotional and behavioural challenges.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored learning plans and adapt classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Support students in building social skills, emotional regulation, and independence within and outside of the classroom.
  • Monitor the progress of students with SEN and report back to the SENCO and teachers on their development.
  • Help implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide personal care and support to students where needed, ensuring their well-being and comfort during the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals (e.g., speech therapists, educational psychologists) to ensure a holistic approach to supporting each child.
  • Assist with classroom management and support creating an inclusive, positive learning environment for all students.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs of the classroom and individual students.
Estimated Salary:

£81.75 - £85.02 per day
