Worthing, West Sussex, United Kingdom CV-Library Full time
About the Role
This Behaviour Buddy position is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming school in Worthing, West Sussex, and make a real difference in the lives of children with severe special needs. As a Behaviour Buddy, you will provide hands-on support to children with complex needs, including autism and other medical requirements such as tube feeding. You will work closely with the teaching and SEN team to create an inclusive learning environment and support the development of social and communication skills through positive interaction and encouragement.

About the Position
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum, which reflects the importance of this role in our organisation. In addition to a stable income, you will have access to ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Behaviour Buddy. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, providing a great work-life balance for those looking for a fulfilling career in childcare support.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to children with severe special needs.
  • Assist with the daily care of students, including support for medical needs such as tube feeding (training provided if necessary).
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to develop and implement effective strategies to support children with complex needs.
  • Monitor progress and report back to the SEN team.

About You
We welcome candidates with experience in similar roles, but it is not essential. What is crucial is a caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children with diverse and complex needs. You should be confident in managing challenging behaviors and providing emotional support. A willingness to learn and take on responsibilities such as tube feeding and other medical support tasks is also essential. If you have a strong commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs, we would love to hear from you.
