About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Fraud Investigator to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing our existing and potential new caseload of supported (exempt) accommodation tenants and providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in assessing the need for and provision of care support and supervision from a housing duty perspective.
  • Challenging tenant eligibility for supported housing and provider eligibility under Housing Benefit regulations.
  • Reducing the elements that make up the eligible rent.
  • Investigating providers, including assessing their non-profit status, links to other providers, and provision of required care support and supervision.
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data to identify potential fraud risks and trends.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in an investigative environment, including conducting interviews, preparing reports, and presenting findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in facilitation and presentation.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior managers and other key stakeholders, demonstrating courage and integrity when challenged on investigation findings.
  • Numeracy skills, including the ability to analyze, interpret, and present detailed and complex data.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and current issues affecting the investigation of fraud.
  • Investigation qualifications, such as Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Understanding of public sector organizations, ideally local government, and the issues currently facing the sector.
  • Accreditation as a Financial Investigator under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
