Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Supervisor to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing support to our Finance Director and supervising a team of three accounts staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Support: Assist with accounting transactions, including supervising three staff and providing holiday cover for key tasks.
  • Office Management: Support directors with office management tasks, including supervising three accounts staff and providing holiday cover.
  • Bank Administration: Review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies, including downloading and filing bank statements.
  • Credit Card Administration: Monitor and set up credit cards, including scanning and filing credit card statements.
  • Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset register, including scanning and filing invoices for year-end audit.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly financial reports for board meetings and Employee Ownership Trust meetings.
  • Pensions Administration: Administer pensions, including checking accuracy of payments and liaison with pension providers.
  • General Accounting: Provide cover in the accounts as required, including AP, AR, Shipments, Agents Commission, and Payroll.
  • Year-End Audit: Assist with the year-end audit, including preparation of audit schedules.
  • Office Administration: Administer car and photocopier leases, including liaison with suppliers in the event of fault or query.
  • Tax Compliance: Agree Sales/VAT to VAT Return and complete Office for National Statistics returns.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist the Finance Director with ad hoc projects, including review of online payment systems and investigation of VAT reclaims on expenses.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is highly desirable.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and double entry.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
