Job Title: Head of Technical Claims

At Sirius Group, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Technical Claims team. As Head of Technical Claims, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational management of our A&H team in London and the Life team in Zurich.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage underwriting, premium, claim, and reinsurance processes to ensure adequate control and quality.
  2. Monitor underwriting support services to ensure they meet agreed quality and service levels.
  3. Work with the Program Management team to ensure binders are managed in accordance with the Program Management framework.
  4. Monitor aggregates, input data, and own the aggregates database.
  5. Coordinate administration support to underwriters.
  6. Ensure timely communication across departments and adherence to internal and external reporting deadlines.
  7. Produce operational reports, metrics, and MI as required by the team and support the QBR.
  8. Produce exception reports and act on them in a timely manner to ensure accurate details are maintained on underwriting systems.
  9. Work with the management team to achieve operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  10. Ensure consistency across branches on procedures and systems.
Requirements:
  1. At least 5 years' experience in insurance, especially around binders expertise.
  2. Stakeholder management at all levels.
  3. Outstanding communication, both written and verbal.
  4. Ability to think proactively and offer solutions to problems.
  5. Ability to understand the bigger picture and visualize end-to-end processes.
  6. Strong analytical and control skills to ensure data integrity.
  7. Willingness to maintain continuous professional development.
  8. Strong project management, prioritization, and time-keeping skills.
  9. Fluent in English, other languages a plus.
