Job Title: Head of Claims Operations

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Claims Operations to join our team at Bell & Clements. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our claims operational framework, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure consistent and diligent claims operational control framework.
  • Partner with claims leadership teams to deliver tangible benefits to claims operations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational improvement and champion solutions to ensure benefit realization.
  • Develop and manage internal reporting frameworks to support the Head of Claims in prioritizing tasks and initiatives.
  • Lead the execution and oversight of integration projects and strategic initiatives, including technology integrations.
  • Oversee the B&C Outlier quarterly maintenance process and reported financials to internal management and legal governing entities.
  • Assist MRSI and B&C CAT assessment teams for early indications post-CAT event, using reporting and technology, where available.
  • Work with Analytics to feed automated data from technology for early CAT reporting.
  • Collaborate with MRSI and GSI Claims Transformation teams to identify and implement opportunities to enhance internal B&C and broader group claims processes and workflows.
Requirements:
  • Claims operational performance expertise in primary insurance and across several lines of business.
  • Experience dealing with US and UK-related legal and regulatory systems.
  • Good contacts with lawyers and other external claims service providers; network within Munich Re claims community desirable.
  • Affinity and first understanding of claims IT systems; knowledge of international market claims systems.
  • Very good command of English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Strong organizational and presentational skills.
