Claims Operations Leadership Role

Bell & Clements is seeking an experienced Claims Operations professional to lead our Claims Operations function. As Head of Claims Operations and Oversight, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our Claims Operational framework, developing and/or enhancing effective Processes and Procedures, and developing effective Management Information to support improved efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Claims Leadership UK and Group Claims Leadership teams to deliver tangible benefits to Claims.
  • Proactively uncover opportunities for operational improvement and champion solutions in partnership with other Claims Leadership teams and Group business functions.
  • Develop an effective internal reporting framework to support the Head of Claims in ensuring appropriate focus and prioritisation of tasks and initiatives.
  • Responsible for Claims MI delivery and insights and driving a continuous improvement culture.
  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Control framework, policies, and procedures and reporting standards to ensure consistent product or service quality across portfolio.
  • Lead the execution and oversight of integration projects and strategic initiatives, including technology integrations.
  • Oversee the B&C Outlier quarterly maintenance process and reported financials to internal management and legal governing entities.
  • Assist MRSI and B&C CAT assessment teams for early indications post CAT event, using reporting and technology, where available. Work with Analytics to feed automated data from technology for early CAT reporting.
  • Work with Head of Claims B&C to assess, review, and enforce quality standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with MRSI and GSI Claims Transformation teams to identify and implement opportunities to enhance internal B&C and broader group Claims processes and workflows to improve quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Claims Operational Performance Expertise in primary insurance as well as across several lines of business, U.S. Property, Liability/Casualty and auto/cargo (physical damage) MGA experience a strong plus.
  • Experienced dealing with US and UK related legal and regulatory systems.
  • Good contacts with lawyers and other external claims service providers; network within Munich Re claims community desirable.
  • Affinity and first understanding of claims IT systems; knowledge of international market claims system.
  • Very good command of English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Strong organisational and presentational skills.

This position is offered on a Permanent basis. Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Annual leave - 25 days per year (plus bank holidays), increases with length of service.
