Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our client's team on an initial 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical support for desktop systems, including Microsoft Windows operating system, SCCM, Microsoft Office suite, Active Directory, AppSense, and telephony services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of IT services and support.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 10), including build, configuration, and registry settings.
  • Experience with SCCM, including OS deployment, application deployment, fault finding, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite, including configuration, templates, macros, add-ins, advanced features, and user preference configuration.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, including basic administration and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of AppSense, including Environment Manager and App Manager, and basic policy fault finding expertise.
  • Appreciation of messaging and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Exchange environment, email client configuration (MS Outlook), and network technologies (LAN/WAN/vLAN and Wi-Fi).
  • Understanding of networks, including DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE, and VPN/remote connectivity.
  • Experience with telephony services, including office-based telephony services, VOIP, mobile device configuration, tethering, and mobile peripherals.
