Senior Residential Child Care Worker

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Residential Child Care Worker at Dove Adolescent Services in Wakefield.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish a homely environment by completing key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis.
  • Promote individual interests and attitudes by planning, organizing, and participating in activities.
  • Protect the welfare of each young person and contribute to care and risk plans.
  • Develop positive relationships with young people and their families.
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively.
  • Encourage healthy lifestyles and positive networks among young people.
  • Participate in developing and implementing care packages through team meetings and supervisions.
  • Attend child care reviews and advocate for the young person when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding and commitment to the role, which includes working weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rota.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with high accuracy and maintain clear records.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive team player attitude.
  • Intermediate computer experience and ability to complete daily records.
  • Empathetic nature, good communication skills, and ability to engage and motivate young people.

The base salary for this role is £26,566.80, with the potential to earn up to £31,966.80 with sleep-in shifts.
