About the Role

The Training and Competence Lead will work as part of the CAF Rail UK Training and Competence team to support the development and delivery of comprehensive training and safety critical competency standard compliance. This role will primarily support the Transport for Wales project but also CAF Rail UK operations as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of assessment plans and the implementation of technical and non-technical training across the business. You will also be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Railway Group Standards, industry codes of practice, strategies, and policies sufficient to the safe use, operation, and maintenance of traction and rolling stock.

Your Daily Duties

  1. Support, implement, and maintain a robust Training, Competence, Learning, and Development strategy aligned to the needs and strategic objectives of CAF Rail UK.
  2. Deliver against an agreed set of objectives and KPIs aligned to the organisation's strategy and objectives established by the team and led by the Training and Competence Manager.
  3. Implement Training, Competence, Learning, and Development requirements aligned to our clients/customers (including our contractual obligations).
  4. Maintain a comprehensive and compliant Competency Management Information System (CMIS) within your designated projects, which will meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
  5. Ensure accurate and appropriate training records are held and that a suitable system is in place to allow access to this information.
  6. Develop relevant training material for provision both internally and externally (to clients) as required. Where relevant, such material should incorporate E-Learning technology to facilitate delivery across multiple locations.
  7. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the business (internal customers/stakeholders).
