We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our team in delivering exceptional care to older adults with complex mental health needs. Based at Monkwearmouth Hospital, Sunderland, you will be part of the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults over 65 years presenting cognitive impairment and comorbid conditions.

You will hold responsibility for patients admitted to the unit and provide medical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team. This role offers an excellent chance to improve pathways for patients within the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior expertise in the assessment and treatment of older adults with complex mental health needs.
  • Holding RC responsibility for patients admitted to the unit.
  • Providing medical leadership to the MDT.

The ideal candidate will have a CCT or equivalence in old age Psychiatry, approved clinician status, and experience in multi-disciplinary team working.

A competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per year is offered for this role, reflecting the high level of expertise required.
