About the Role
NEC Care, part of the NEC Health division, delivers the national diabetic eye screening programme. Our mission, vision, and values are to provide people-centric services that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve by working to achieve excellence in service delivery.
As a Retinal Screening Specialist, you will be at the heart of NEC Care, spending your time on the ground, helping our patients to live longer, healthier lives. You will run local clinics to see our service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Run local clinics to see service users and photograph their eyes
- Assess for diabetic retinopathy
- Work with patients to understand their health and eye images
- Support patients in managing their eye health
Requirements
- Customer-focused with brilliant interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and complete necessary qualification
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Good problem-solving skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Previous experience working with the public is ideal
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
