South West London (SWL) DESP provides retinal screening clinics and image grading to people with diabetes in the boroughs of South West London. We are commissioned by Public Health England to provide retinal screening on behalf of the NHS and our service is compliant with the National Service Framework (NSF) and National Screening Committee (NSC) guidance, standards, and objectives.

An Opportunity to Make a Difference

As a retinal screener, you will be at the heart of Nec Care, helping our patients to live longer, healthier lives. You will run local clinics to see our service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. We need you to be empathetic and able to talk to people about their health and eye images on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run local clinics to see service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
  • Be empathetic and able to talk to people about their health and eye images on a daily basis
  • Work in a sometimes pressured environment, requiring a cool head
  • Be customer and people-focused, caring about our service users and passionate about delivering an exceptional service

Requirements

  • Customer-focused with brilliant interpersonal skills

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
