Deputy Nursery Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team at Westbury House Preparatory School and Nursery. As a key member of our nursery team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality childcare and education to our young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Develop and implement effective educational programs that meet the needs of our children, aligning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting a positive and inclusive nursery culture.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of accurate records, including occupancy and staff training.
  • Support the training and development of staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality childcare and education.
Requirements:
  • Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification in early years as a minimum.
  • Recent experience within a childcare setting, preferably in a senior role.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS 0-5 years curriculum and Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding.
  • Ability to deliver a high standard of childcare and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work productively with children, colleagues, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
