Job Title: Diabetic Eye Screener

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diabetic Eye Screener to join our team at NEC Care. As a key member of our retinal screening program, you will play a vital role in helping people with diabetes live longer, healthier lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run local clinics to see service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
  • Provide empathetic and patient-centered care, discussing health and eye images with service users
  • Work independently in a sometimes pressured environment, requiring a cool head and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Support the delivery of an exceptional service, prioritizing customer and people-focused care

Requirements:

  • Customer-focused with brilliant interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and complete necessary qualifications
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience working with the public is ideal
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
