Job Title: Surgical Care Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Care Practitioner to join our team in the Orthopaedic service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality perioperative care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the orthopaedic surgeons and nursing teams to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Act as a first or second assistant in specialist orthopaedic surgery, utilizing advanced skills and expert knowledge.
  • Liaise with the orthopaedic nursing team and other professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Prescribe medications using expertise and evidence-based practice, once Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is attained.
  • Prepare discharge letters, prescriptions, and post-operative advice for elective surgery.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification.
  • Surgical Care Practitioner Course completion.
  • Experience in theatre settings and/or orthopaedic care is advantageous.
