About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SHE Advisor to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure. As a key member of our Eastern Region team, you will play a critical role in championing safety excellence and ensuring the well-being of our teams and the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Safety Excellence: Proactively influence correct behaviors through effective communication, education, and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with employees, clients, and the supply chain to promote sustainable improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Safe Systems of Work: Support the production of high-quality Construction Phase Plans, Environmental Management Plans, Risk Assessments, and Works Package Plans.
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks: Develop and deliver comprehensive toolbox talks to ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their roles safely.
  • Monitor Performance: Review and report on performance and compliance against our Business Management System.
  • Investigate Incidents: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring actions are completed and lessons are learned.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain a high level of professional engagement and communication with internal peers to ensure a consistent approach to SHE is maintained.
  • Liaise with Clients: Work with clients to ensure required standards are met, attending client forums, workshops, and promoting best practice.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role and working environment (Civil Engineering/Construction).
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of a wide range of SHE current best practice.
  • Skills: Confident in leading investigations and effective report writing, with strong influencing skills and ability to manage constraints.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Awareness Training, Investigation Training, and appropriate CSCS Card.
