About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior SHE Advisor to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure. As a champion of safety excellence, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our teams and the success of our projects in the Eastern Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Safety Excellence: Proactively influence correct behaviors through effective communication, education, and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with employees, clients, and the supply chain to promote sustainable improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Safe Systems of Work: Support the production of safe systems of work, including Construction Phase Plans, Environmental Management Plans, Risk Assessments, and Works Package Plans, to maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks: Assist in the development of detailed and comprehensive toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and best practices.
  • Monitor Performance: Review and report on performance and compliance against the Business Management System, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring actions are completed and lessons are learned.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain a high level of professional engagement and communication with internal peers to ensure a consistent approach to safety is maintained.
  • Liaise with Clients: Collaborate with client counterparts and representatives to ensure required standards are met, attending client forums, workshops, and near miss meetings.
  • Promote SHE Programs: Participate in the promotion of SHE programs and schemes, disseminating and developing information within the business.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role and working environment, preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction.
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of a wide range of SHE current best practices, including management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Skills: Confident leadership and influencing skills, effective report writing, and strong communication skills.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Awareness Training, Investigation Training, and a valid CSCS Card.
