Working Style: Flexible (office presence required 1 day per week)

The Senior Arboricultural Advisor plays a pivotal role in co-managing the delivery of arboricultural services to clients nationwide.

Our team of Senior Arboricultural Advisors spearheads the execution and enhancement of arboricultural services, which encompass specialized planning guidance, management of highway trees, comprehensive arboricultural assessments, and contributions to multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering arboricultural services effectively, managing a varied caseload of inquiries related to specialized planning and vegetation impacting public highways, specifying necessary management actions, and overseeing contractors.
  • Conducting and evaluating arboricultural assessments, including tree inventories and valuations, for large-scale and complex projects.
  • Providing expert advice on extensive habitat management and creation initiatives.
  • Designing and executing intricate arboricultural surveys, utilizing innovative tools and methodologies.
  • Leading the development and assessment of comprehensive plans, policies, and guidelines.
  • Driving the commercial growth of our ecological services, pursuing high-value opportunities, and managing significant projects and contracts within budgetary constraints.
  • Fostering a client-centric culture, nurturing high-level client relationships, and maintaining awareness of industry trends and key markets.
  • Creating and delivering promotional and educational materials, training sessions, and events to enhance the visibility and reputation of Place Services.
  • Encouraging a collaborative, high-performance environment, enhancing team dynamics, and promoting continuous professional development.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to improve service delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree-level education (RQF level 6) with substantial post-qualification experience or equivalent professional experience.
  • Qualified Professional Tree Inspector with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and membership in relevant professional organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in development management, planning policy, legislation, and enforcement standards.
  • Proven people management capabilities with experience in employee performance and development.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, with the ability to implement safe working practices.
  • Solid grasp of commercial practices, with excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a successful track record in business development.
  • Able to lead specialized and multi-disciplinary project teams, managing complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficient in utilizing various software tools, including GIS, for complex data management and analysis.

Mobility Requirement:

The role necessitates mobility across operational areas. Therefore, a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, or alternative means to meet mobility requirements, are essential.
