About the Role

St. Helens Council is seeking an accomplished Senior Social Worker to join their prestigious Complex Safeguarding Team. This highly skilled team focuses on providing exceptional support to vulnerable children and young people at risk of exploitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective risk reduction strategies to minimize vulnerability in children and young people.
  • Manage a specialized caseload and collaborate with allocated social workers to ensure optimal care and support for looked-after children, those in need, or under child protection plans.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and deliver targeted interventions to address the unique needs of this vulnerable cohort.
  • Foster strong partnerships with the police and other multi-agency professionals to develop comprehensive care plans and effective risk management strategies.
  • Play a pivotal role in prevention work and disruption strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Recognized qualification in social work (Dip.SW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent).
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience in children's services, particularly in safeguarding and exploitation.
  • Enhanced DBS.
