Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Buy It Direct. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and customers across our key sites in Huddersfield and Castle Donington.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures and best practices.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with external consultants and experts to stay up-to-date with the latest health and safety trends and best practices.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive health and safety training program for employees.
- Chair the Health and Safety Committee meetings and ensure all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
- Stay updated with all relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate necessary changes to the business.
- Proactively manage risk reduction activities across all operational areas.
- Administer and train first aid provisions, fire prevention, protection, and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma and other relevant H&S qualifications.
- Health and Safety experience within construction, manufacturing, and engineering.
- Full driving license.
- Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to promote a positive Health and Safety culture.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Working knowledge of CDM/Asbestos/Working at height.
- Strong written and verbal communication e.g. report writing, briefings, and presentation skills.
- A flexible attitude to working.
