We are seeking an experienced Island Child Welfare Officer to join our team in the Isle of Wight. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with vulnerable children and young people on the island, ensuring their safety and well-being.

The successful candidate will receive a salary of £**£42,000 - £50,000 per annum**, along with benefits including up to £250 weekly accommodation reimbursement and reimbursement for one return car ferry per week. A full driving license and access to a vehicle are required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring that all statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify risks and develop care plans to address the needs of children and families.
  • Collaborating with professionals from health, education, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Preparing reports and presenting evidence in court, as needed, to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Engaging with families, building trust, and working with them to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.

Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in social work (Dip.SW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent).
  • Are registered with Social Work England.
  • Have a solid understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment processes.
  • Have access to their own vehicle and are available to work on the Isle of Wight for five days per week.
