Job Title: Lecturer in Construction Management

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Construction Management to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the principles and practices of construction project management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality course materials, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments.
  • Teach and assess students in construction project management, including planning, risk management, sustainability, and construction technologies.
  • Supervise student projects and provide guidance and feedback to ensure students meet learning outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in construction project management.
  • Contribute to the development of academic programs and courses in construction project management.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, including academic and personal support.
  • Meet performance management objectives, including student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in construction management, project management, or a related field.
  • PhD or equivalent high-level professional experience in a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous lecturing experience in construction project management or a related field.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Experience teaching in the wider subject area of construction project management.
  • Experience with distance learning and supporting learners both online and face-to-face.
  • Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
  • Firm commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Attention to detail and accurate reporting.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and organized student records.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan, and prioritize own workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modeling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Experience in facilitating computer-aided design workshops.
  • Experience of designing and developing academic or professional education programs or equivalent.
  • Full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body.
