Compass Associates is proud to be partnering with a leading provider of children's specialist services to recruit experienced Counselling Psychologists for their Children's Clinical Team. This is an exciting opportunity for Clinical, Forensic, Counselling or Educational Psychologists who have experience working with children and young people.

The ideal candidate will divide their week between working from home and travelling to visit the children's residential homes within their geographical remit. These homes provide specialist care and support for children and young people who have backgrounds of complex trauma, learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and challenging behaviours.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and consultations to develop therapeutic plans
  • Delivering training and providing advice to residential staff on how to best support children in their care
  • Carrying out some direct, trauma-informed work with the children and young people

You will have senior support from the Clinical Lead and Associate Clinical Director, as well as work closely with other Qualified Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Creative Therapists, and Psychotherapists.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • A Doctorate level degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Educational Psychology
  • Full HCPC registration without conditions
  • UK Driving Licence and access to your own car is essential
  • Clear and enhanced DBS
  • Experience working with children and young people within CAMHS, residential or specialist education settings
  • A good understanding of residential care, trauma-informed practice, and multidisciplinary working

This is a two-stage process including an informal conversation with the Associate Clinical Director, followed by a formal interview via Teams. You can expect a competitive salary of up to £63,000 per annum depending on experience.
