About the Role

Oak Paddock is a 4-bedded crisis house based in Shrewsbury, providing therapeutic support to individuals referred by the Crisis Team and Community Mental Health Teams.

We are seeking a compassionate staff member to join our team, supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and have a high level of professional integrity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to guests and ensuring the smooth running of the service under the guidance of the team supervisor/manager
  • Preparing and cooking simple but nutritious meals
  • Supporting customers in preparing to move on from Oak Paddock, liaising with care coordinators, crisis teams, social workers, and other care providers

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A working knowledge of mental health legislation
  • An understanding of mental health services, including prevention, early intervention, and crisis management
  • Experience of working within a busy support environment
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and non-verbally
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use initiative
