Reed Accountancy & Finance is seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join their client's finance team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing outgoing bills and invoices on behalf of the company.

Accounts Payable Specialist Key Responsibilities:
  • Process incoming invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable status.
  • Understand expense accounts and cost centres.
  • Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (tax, VAT, etc.).
Accounts Payable Specialist Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with accounting software.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent accounting certification is advantageous.
