Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations for both client and office accounts.
  • Identify and allocate all office and client receipts accurately.
  • Manage accounts payable, including processing supplier invoices and expenses using Sage, along with monthly supplier reconciliations.
  • Handle staff expense processing efficiently.
  • Review, post, and reconcile Counsel Fees and other anticipated disbursements.
  • Facilitate the billing of disbursements and fees.
  • Perform weekly and monthly medical reconciliations and follow-ups.
  • Prepare monthly nominal reports for the Legal Director.
  • Address general case-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with the SRA audit conducted by external auditors.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as required, including monitoring the inbox, daily banking, supporting file handlers, and annual audits.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Finance Department.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience in a similar position within a legal practice is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SARs and VAT compliance is advantageous.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capability to multitask and manage interruptions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
  • Capacity to thrive in a busy work environment.
  • Experience with Sage Software is a plus.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Ability to build relationships and work with individuals at all levels of seniority.
  • Proficient in Excel and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office packages.
