Job Title: Domestic Abuse Support Specialist

Inspirational national charity in Birmingham seeks a dedicated individual to join their team as a Domestic Abuse Support Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic abuse and provide them with the support they need to rebuild their lives.

**Job Description:**
As a Domestic Abuse Support Specialist, you will be working closely with survivors of domestic abuse, providing them with housing advice and crisis management support. You will conduct housing need assessments, investigate survivors' housing and additional support needs, and develop Personal Housing Plans (PHP) with them. Your expertise will help survivors find housing appropriate to their needs and access statutory and community services as necessary.

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conducting housing need assessments and conducting investigations to understand survivors' housing and additional support needs
* Managing a caseload of survivors/families affected by domestic abuse
* Supporting service users who attend drop-in sessions and delivering expert advice and assistance on homelessness within a domestic abuse context
* Undertaking initial inquiries into a person's eligibility and homelessness/threatened with homelessness status and making appropriate referrals

**Requirements:**
* Strong working knowledge of the Housing Act and all relevant Housing Legislation
* Strong working knowledge of and/or understanding of domestic abuse
* Experience within the field of domestic abuse, housing options, homelessness, and housing support

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting survivors of domestic abuse and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A salary of approximately £18 - 19 per hour, dependant on experience, is available for this role.
