About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cardiology Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including acute coronary syndrome and cardiac rehabilitation.

Job Summary
  • To lead the development and implementation of evidence-based care pathways for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
  • To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • To provide education and training to staff on cardiac specialist nursing practices.
  • To contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines related to cardiovascular nursing.
  • To participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Substantial experience in a senior nurse operational role in an acute NHS setting.
  • Experience in running nurse-led clinics and developing business and workforce plans.
  • Proven ability to initiate audits, research, and assess evidence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act autonomously and work under pressure.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification and experience in cardiology nursing.
  • Appropriate teaching certificate or extensive teaching experience.
  • Advanced assessment qualification and non-medical prescribing course or willingness to undertake.
  • Evidence of recent professional/management/leadership development.
  • Master's degree or working towards.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £52,780 - £74,479 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, and access to employee assistance programmes.
