Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit and Surgical High Dependency Unit. This will involve assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
  • Supervise junior staff and provide mentorship and preceptorship to junior nurses and student nurses.
  • Act as an effective clinical role model and promote excellence in nursing practice.
  • Maintain a safe clinical environment conducive to patient care.
  • Participate in research and development activities, including audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification
  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
  • 1st or 2nd level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Intensive Care Course qualification.
  • Relevant ITU experience following ITU course.
  • Management experience within the area of specialty.
  • Mentored course members, junior nurses, or student nurses.
