Support Specialist for Autism

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Autism Support Specialist to join RIBBONS AND REEVES at a well-established Primary School Autism provision in Hammersmith & Fulham. This is an immediate start opportunity for the right candidate.

About the Role:
  • This role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a specialist Primary provision.
  • The successful candidate will implement structured activities to foster skills in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • They will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a tailored learning experience for each child.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement sensory-friendly learning strategies to help children feel comfortable and engaged in the classroom.
  • Offer continuous support throughout the school day, encouraging independence and confidence in the students.
  • Collaborate with families and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to student development.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record as an Autism Support Assistant or in a similar SEN role, ideally within a Primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of Autism and experience with strategies that support social communication and sensory needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the patience and empathy to engage with children on the Autism spectrum.
Location and Salary:
  • The role is based in Hammersmith & Fulham, a well-connected area with a vibrant, diverse community.
  • An estimated salary for this position is £48,500 per annum, depending on experience.
