Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Mentor to join our team as a Specialist Coach for university students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience working with young people or adults with ASC, as well as a strong understanding of the impact of Autism on students' ability to learn and their overall university experience.

  • Monitor students' mental health and assess risk;
  • Prevent or alleviate dropout from university;
  • Support independent learning through 'life skills' support;
  • Encourage personal responsibility and resource development within students;
  • Reduce stresses associated with university life and emotional experiences;
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • An honours degree in any subject;
  • Meet the SFE Mandatory Criteria for Band 4 Specialist Mentor – Autism Spectrum Conditions SM-ASC;
  • Experience working in autism support and a commitment to disability equity;
