Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Clinical Support Worker to join our Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care to patients in our critical care units.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, carers, and patient groups.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate relationships, communication, and teamwork with members of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward/department.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and legible documentation adhering to standards in accordance with Trust policies and guidance.
  • Provide and deliver a high standard of compassionate nursing care recognizing and meeting the specific needs of patients.
  • Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual programs of care for patients.
  • Assist patients with all aspects of their personal hygiene.
  • Assist in the safe moving and handling of all patients utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Carry out clinical observations on patients, recognizing, recording, and reporting abnormalities and changes in patients' conditions to the registered practitioner.
  • Assist in safe and appropriate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist in the performing of last offices for deceased patients.
  • Undertake duties on different wards, departments, or clinical areas as and when required by service demands or patient need.
