Patient Care and Wellbeing

As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and effective care to patients within our healthcare setting. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting with daily living activities, promoting patient comfort, and ensuring their well-being is prioritized.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, working collaboratively with the nursing team.

Education, Health, Safety and Security

You will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of patient safety and security. This includes:

  • Ensuring the safekeeping and transportation of patient property and valuables in accordance with Trust policies.
  • Recognizing the importance of health education and teaching patients and their carers, informing senior staff when necessary.
  • Using equipment and resources appropriately, efficiently, and economically.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by reporting incidents, accidents, and complaints according to Trust policy.

Professional Development

  • Participate in in-service training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Complete annual mandatory and priority training requirements within agreed timescales.
  • Engage in your own and others' annual performance appraisals to foster continuous improvement.

Supervision and Leadership

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a supportive team environment by:

  • Leading a team of clinical support workers on a shift-by-shift basis, providing guidance and support.
  • Contributing to the mentorship and appraisal of junior staff members.
  • Raising concerns regarding risk, danger, malpractice, or wrongdoing by following the Trust's Whistleblowing policy and supporting processes.
