Position Overview
East Coast Community Healthcare CIC is seeking a Healthcare Training Specialist to integrate within each Primary Care Home team. The Healthcare Training Specialist will assist team members in enhancing their skills and competencies in alignment with the workforce development strategy. This role is part of a dedicated group of specialists who will implement a comprehensive educational program aimed at equipping the workforce with essential skills and knowledge to meet service demands while ensuring high standards of clinical practice.
Each specialist will possess unique expertise, allowing for a diverse approach to training delivery, thereby ensuring the program's resilience. The learners will encompass a range of professionals, including pre-professionals, pre-registration, non-registered, and registered staff. The postholder will collaborate closely with the Education and Training department to optimize the use of time and resources in addressing the learning needs within the organization, while also responding to urgent requests as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the workforce in practice to incorporate evidence-based practices and uphold high-quality service delivery standards.
- Design and implement a comprehensive training program to support the Clinical Education and Workforce Development Strategy.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify skill and knowledge gaps and develop plans accordingly.
- Utilize a variety of educational and training tools and technologies to provide learners with broad access to resources and ensure safe use of clinical instruments.
- Assist staff and students upon request, particularly those with identified specific learning needs during their induction period.
- Maintain personal clinical competence relevant to the area of employment.
- Support mentors and practice educators in bridging theory and practice for students and trainees within the learning environment.

Responsibilities in Education and Clinical Practice
- Assist mentors and practice educators in facilitating the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application for students and trainees.
- Stay updated with the students' curriculum and comprehend the assessment processes.

- Support mentors in ensuring effective supervision, assessment, and informed decision-making regarding learners, especially in complex situations.
- Promote awareness of the significance of in-service training in enhancing patient care and service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of a robust pre-registration student induction program.
- Encourage constructive feedback to learners and educators to continuously improve educational delivery.

- Engage in ongoing evaluation and development of the role, utilizing appraisal processes and professional regulatory requirements.
