Senior Cinematic Artist

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cinematic Artist to join our team at PlayStation. As a key member of our Firesprite studio, you'll be responsible for crafting high-quality in-game cinematic sequences for our story-driven 'Dark Horror Narrative Adventure' project.

This is an ambitious AAA project that pushes the boundaries of next-generation hardware technologies. You'll work closely with our Cinematography Director and team members to develop cinematics from previs to final production.

As a Senior, you'll train and mentor junior colleagues, providing solutions to pipeline challenges and driving the development of cinematics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build high-quality cinematic sequences using cinematography, camera animation, and editing skills.
  • Maintain and develop cinematics in a highly iterative environment.
  • Establish and drive pipelines, processes, and methodologies across the cinematic teams.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges and push project quality.
  • Supervise junior team members and provide coaching and mentorship.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Cinematic Artist with a strong portfolio showcasing visual storytelling and cinematography skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 Sequencer, MotionBuilder, Maya, or equivalent 3D programs.
  • Strong understanding of cinematic storytelling principles, cinematic language, and visual storytelling theory.
  • Excellent framing and animation skills for cinematic cameras.
  • Deep understanding of the latest cinematic pipelines and workflows.
  • Exceptional team collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software.
  • Experience with Unreal 5 Blueprints and other Unreal tools.
  • Experience with lighting and editing.
