Senior Cinematic Artist

Firesprite is a visionary game development studio based in the heart of Liverpool, and we're looking for a talented Senior Cinematic Artist to join our team.

Role Overview:

We're seeking a highly skilled Cinematic Artist to create high-quality in-game cinematic sequences for our AAA project, a story-driven 'Dark Horror Narrative Adventure' with genre-defining goals.

This is an ambitious project with a heavy focus on atmosphere, storytelling, player agency, and immersion into groundbreaking territory on next-generation hardware technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build high-quality cinematic sequences using cinematography, camera animation, and editing skills.
  • Maintain and develop cinematics in a highly iterative environment, collaborating with the Cinematography Director and team members.
  • Help establish and drive pipelines, processes, and methodologies across the cinematic teams.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to ensure deliverables are completed on time and to desired quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges and push project quality.
  • Supervise junior team members and coach them to success through reviews and mentorship.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Cinematic Artist with a strong portfolio showcasing visual storytelling and cinematography skills.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 Sequencer, MotionBuilder, Maya, or equivalent 3D programs.
  • Strong understanding of cinematic storytelling principles, cinematic language, literacy, and visual storytelling theory in an interactive medium.
  • Excellent framing and animation skills for cinematic cameras.
  • Deep understanding of the latest cinematic pipelines and workflows.
  • Exceptional team collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software.
  • Experience with Unreal 5 Blueprints and other Unreal tools.
  • Experience with lighting and editing.
