Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in a SEN School located in Meldreth, Hertfordshire.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
  • Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning.
  • Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher.
  • Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
  • Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
  • A genuine desire to work with children within the education sector.
  • All Teaching Assistants need to be flexible and willing to work with the whole school cohort to support and manage the day-to-day running of the school.
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative, successful Teaching Assistants hit the ground running and can use their own initiative without needing too much guidance to engage with their students.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.

Please note, we do not provide sponsorship for this role. Right to work in the UK is required with sufficient documentation to support this. An Enhanced DBS will be required, or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
