A specialist Independent SEN School based in Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join their team.

The school caters for children with a wide range of special educational needs, mainly Autism, and requires a supportive educator to work closely with the class teacher.

In this role, you will be required to support and guide pupils in their learning journey through fun play, sensory play, and continuous provisions. You will also be responsible for identifying specific additional support needs and adapting your approach accordingly.

You will liaise with the class teacher to ensure you are in line with each child's EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) and to maximise each child's progression and potential.

Job Requirements:
  • Possessing knowledge of SEN education and experience working with children with Autism
  • Ability to deliver continuous provisions in line with the curriculum
  • Strong interpersonal skills and patience when interacting with children
  • Capacity to reflect on practice and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures

Key Information:

  • $12.90-$15.00 per hour
  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday (8:30-4:30 pm)
  • Term-time only contract
  • PAYE contract
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay
