About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse to join our Cardiology Research team at the Bristol Heart Institute. As a Research Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of clinical trials and research studies within the Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Approach patients to participate in studies and manage and assist the team with practical assessments as part of research studies.
  • Complete all administrative duties associated with these assessments, including entering results on to a computer-based data collection portal.
  • Work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to support a portfolio of non-complex clinical trials and deliver their treatment in Cardiology.
  • Ensure that research is undertaken within research governance and good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and safeguards the wellbeing of participants.
Requirements
  • Broad knowledge and experience of clinical practice within an acute hospital environment.
  • Interest in clinical research and a willingness to develop computer skills further.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and use own initiative.
  • Evidence of good management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage resources effectively.
