About the Job

The Approved Mental Health Professional role within our Adult Social Care Service is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for supporting those in need. Based in Bromley, this permanent position offers a competitive salary of up to £50,063 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake Mental Health Act assessments and other statutory functions, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks.
  • In partnership with service users and carers, assess and identify their needs, enhancing their quality of life and independence.
  • Provide professional advice and expertise to less experienced staff, including students and colleagues, and carry a complex caseload.
  • Establish, monitor, and review care plans agreed with service users, carers, and service providers, using CPA policy and procedures.
  • Contribute to the control of budgets by agreeing priorities with service users and carers, ensuring quality best value at all times.
  • Ensure welfare benefit entitlements are identified and met within legislation and available resources.
  • If required, contribute to civil emergency plans, supporting colleagues in local Social Care Teams and assessing/managing risk.
  • Undertake safeguarding investigations, adhering to the Council's Safeguarding Policy and procedures while working with vulnerable adults and children.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
