Based in the West Midlands, Compass Associates is partnering with a national operator to find an experienced Senior Leader to join their team as a Deputy Director of Education.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the performance of a portfolio of SEMH and Autism Schools, supporting the division to achieve excellence. As a key member of the leadership team, they will deputise for the Education Director/Regional Director in their absence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to Regional Executive Head Teachers and Head Teachers within the Education Division, focusing on quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.
  • Ensure all schools in their portfolio meet regulatory requirements, current guidance, and legislation, with a deep understanding of OFSTED essential.
  • Regularly visit each school to provide support to head teachers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote and ensure that students' individual needs are met within each school, with progress documented and evidenced for each student.

Person Specification:

  • Teaching qualification or recognised managerial qualification.
  • Detailed understanding of OFSTED and independent schools.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role for students with SEND and vulnerable young people is required. The ideal candidate will have a background in specialist education and the ability to promote a culture of excellence within the schools.

The salary for this role is estimated at £95,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location. In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate can expect a range of benefits, including a car allowance and opportunities for professional development.
