Teaching Assistant Position

Brighton & Hove City Council invites applications from highly motivated and caring individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants at Downs View School and Downs View Link College.

About the Role

This role requires an enthusiastic and empathetic individual who is committed to supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Teaching Assistant, you will form close relationships with students and help them achieve their full potential through personalized support and encouragement.

You will collaborate with experienced teaching staff to develop engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students. In addition, you will maintain detailed records of student progress, enabling us to identify areas for improvement and tailor our support accordingly.

Duties and Expectations
  1. Work closely with students and teaching staff to deliver high-quality education and care
  2. Develop and implement effective individualized support plans
  3. Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to keep them informed of student progress
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress
