Job Description:

As a Senior Archaeologist, you will be responsible for leading archaeological fieldwork, managing stakeholder consultations, and supervising junior team members. You will also contribute to the development of programmes for archaeological fieldwork projects, source and commission archaeological surveys, and manage project budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading archaeological fieldwork and managing stakeholder consultations
  • Supervising junior team members and contributing to programme development
  • Sourcing and commissioning archaeological surveys, applying expertise in commercial archaeology practices
  • Managing project budgets and deadlines, prioritizing tasks to meet objectives

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in commercial archaeology, with a deep understanding of UK commercial archaeology and planning legislation
  • Proven track record of completing archaeological fieldwork and producing high-quality assessment reports
  • Able to support managers in their duties, assist with overseeing projects, and contribute to business growth
  • Membership of CIfA at Associate or Member level, with a full clean UK driving licence and up-to-date CSCS card
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with good team working abilities
