Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist to lead our Archaeology and Heritage Team. As a key member, you will provide advice and support to colleagues, undertaking archaeological fieldwork and managing stakeholder consultations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Archaeology and Heritage Team and wider Environmental Planning Team to achieve project goals.
- Undertake archaeological DBAs, heritage statements, and EIA chapters, adhering to UK commercial archaeology and planning legislation.
- Design and develop programmes for archaeological fieldwork projects, balancing budget and timelines.
- Source and commission archaeological surveys, fostering strong relationships with suppliers.
- Manage consultations with stakeholders and clients, ensuring clear communication and updates.
- Provide expert problem resolution, leveraging your knowledge and experience.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their growth and development.
- Manage project budgets and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery and financial control.
Requirements:
- A deep understanding of UK commercial archaeology and planning legislation, with 5 years' experience in commercial archaeology.
- Experience of completing archaeological fieldwork and producing assessment reports, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Able to support managers in their duties and assist with overseeing projects, demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A full clean UK driving licence and up-to-date CSCS card, with membership of CIfA at Associate or Member level.
- Good team working skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A working knowledge of MS Office and ESRI/GIS, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
