Job Description

This role requires a dynamic individual who can engage positively with young people, vulnerable groups, and families. The successful candidate will have a proven record of building positive relationships and promoting positive change.

The Community Initiative to Reduce Violence (CIRV) is a pilot service running across Wolverhampton and Coventry, which seeks to engage children, young people, and adults at risk who are within the criminal justice system due to criminality and violence.

The CIRV project is run through the Violence Reduction Unit and is a collaboration between West Midlands Police and various agencies, including St Giles Trust. The service is for children and young people aged 14 years and older that are at risk of, or are experiencing, group-based violence and exploitation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Engage and support young people, adults, and families at risk of violence and exploitation
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Promote positive change and build resilience among young people
  • Prevent young people from experiencing significant harm

Requirements:

  • Dedication and commitment to volunteering activities
  • Positive attitude towards St Giles Trust and its mission
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Enhanced Adult and Children DBS with Child Barred List
