Marine Cargo Claims Handler

Job Summary
Lockton is seeking a highly skilled Marine Cargo Claims Specialist to join our Cargo & Logistics Claims team. As a Marine Cargo Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling a variety of claims and managing your own allocated portfolio of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle claims arising from a broad mix of industries, including automobile physical damage, carriers'/warehouse legal liability, contractors' equipment, motor truck cargo, primary and excess stock, project cargo, and sub-sea and offshore equipment.
- Manage claims from first advice to final settlement, including setting up first advice, processing and managing subsequent movements on Lockton's internal claims systems and external claims platforms.
- Meet agreed Service Standards, volumes, and performance levels in line with Key Performance Indicators and handle claims efficiently in a proactive manner through physical and/or electronic broking, negotiations, and management of claims payment process.
- Assist and represent clients in discussions with insurers on large, contentious, or complex losses.
- Maintain claims relationships with key accounts, including regular calls and provision of claims reports to clients and management of insurers.
- Work closely with the Cargo & Logistics Placement Team to keep them apprised of all key loss developments and identification of trends.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in marine cargo claims.
- Knowledge of policy coverage and associated benefits and exclusions.
- Proficient in using the London market systems, such as ECF and CLASS.
- ACII qualifications are an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including networking, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent use of standard Microsoft applications.
